Nikki Kalkman is a freelance writer, director, creative learning artist and producer. Her recent credits include Writer, Jocasta (in development with the Citizens Theatre, supported by Creative Scotland), Writer and Director, The Bookshop Untold (Wigtown Book Festival), Writer and Director, Odd Socks (presented at Puppet Animation Festival 2022),  Co-Director, The Dark Carnival: Unplugged (Vanishing Point), Assistant Director to Matthew Lenton, The Dark Carnival (Vanishing Point), Rehearsal Director, Black Beauty(Traverse Theatre and Red Bridge Art), Assistant Director to Gemma Fairlie and Young Company Director, Wizard of Oz (Pitlochry Festival Theatre). Independently, Nikki has also produced several theatre performances. These include, My Doric Diary Autumn Tour 2023 (Aye Tunes!), Arthropoda (Paper Doll Militia), and Puppetry Scratch Night (Assembly Roxy).
