About Us
Theatre Studio is a theatre school for children and young people in the West End of Glasgow, soon to be beginning our first Adult Beginner’s classes.
Our focus is on Community, Creativity and (through these) Confidence. Our classes aim to encourage and inspire young people and adults to grow their communication and performance skills through games, script work, devising and performing. We place an emphasis on learning through play and imagination to build a supportive creative community. We strive to make these classes a safe space to have fun, make friends and be introduced to the skill, discipline and joy of being a performer.
We are also a Trinity Guildhall Exam Centre and are able to offer one to one coaching for Graded Acting or Performance Skills exams, and also offer group exams for our S1+ students dependent on demand within the cohort.

Jo founded Theatre Studio in 2008 after running a 3 day drama workshop. It grew into an established theatre school running drama and musical theatre classes, an adult and children’s choir and holiday projects and became part of the community. Over the years Jo also directed productions for the school, CATS, Oliver, Into the Woods, A Midsummer Nights dream and After Juliet, and wrote, directed and appeared with the school in Cinderella. She has also taken many students through the Trinity College London exams.
Now 15 years on Jo is stepping back and the school will be in the very capable hands of Becca. Jo is delighted that Becca will pursue with the same ethos and that Theatre Studio will remain an integral part of many young peoples lives.
